LITHUANIAN INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE
The main aim of the Lithuanian innovation and technology institute is science management further more to become a modern science and research center promoting knowledge economy and development of creative society as well as application of the latest technologies in science and business in Lithuania.
OBJECTIVES:
- Carry out applied research in the fields of knowledge economy, social innovations, development of creative industries, management processes.
- Develop conceptual and methodological state policy foundations of knowledge economy and creation of social innovations.
- Prepare high quality specialists in the fields of social innovations, knowledge and technology management.
- Develop fundamental and applied research and help the state institutions to promote the proper policy in the fields of knowledge management, innovations and creative industries.
- Improve the quality of research and applied works as well as increase the links between science and business.
- Increase the activity in the common European Union research sphere.
- Analyse, assess, detail the solutions made by the Government or other Lithuanian authorities for the development of country politics, legal, economic, social and cultural spheres.
- Create the strategies of national, seperate economy units and public life fields development.
- Provide methodological support as well as proposals and independent assessment for state government, social groups and other persons involved in the development of national knowledgment economy, society and economy subjects strategies.
TASKS:
- Collect, analyse, impart the information and experience regarding knowledge economy, social innovations, business management, technologies implementation.
- Organize seminars, trainings related with knowledge economy, creative society, social innovations, usage of technologies. Develop publishing activities.
- Prepare feasibility studies and recommendations.
- Participate in European research programmes
- Carrying out research in thematic fields.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Carrying out scientific research (Mokslinių tyrimų vykdymas (pagal mokslinių tyrimų kryptis)
- Creating clusters and coordinate them.
- Developing the partnership among sciences , busines and public sector (Triple Helix)
- Participation in projects and research programmes.
- Organizing trainings
- Consultations towards knowledge economy politics-support for Seimas, Lithuanian Governement, municipalities and other public institutions.
- Organizing conferencies
- Publishing (scientific journal)
- Support (consulatations and guidance) for PhD thesis in the field of knowledge economy, social innovations, creative industries. Intermediation and organisition of PhD defence in Lithuanian and foreign education institutions.
- Collaboration with the EU and other foreign countries research institutions.
- Investment attraction for the development of Science and technologies.
- Public opinion and competence formation of the knowledge economy issues.
